White water Rafting along the Kings River, High Sierra Region

The big rivers of northern California provide great white-water rafting (or, more accurately, rubber-dinghying), especially when they are swollen by spring snowmelt. The main rivers for an exciting ride in Northern California are the Merced, American, Stanislaus, Tuolomne, Trinity, Klamath, Salmon and Smith, and in Southern California the Kern, Kings and Kaweah rivers.
